Fried Fish Cubes with Garden Sauce
Adapted from Brazil: A Culinary Journey by Cherie Hamilton
- 2 lbs fillets of white fish (such as cod)
- 3 limes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 c lemon juice
- flour (about 1 cup)
- vegetable oil for deep frying
Halve the limes and rub the fish with them. Cut fish into 1-inch cubes. Sprinkle with salt and drizzle lemon juice over. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Pat dry with a paper towel and dredge in the flour.
Deep fry in oil at 350°F until golden. Serve on toothpicks with Garden Sauce for dipping.
